Ooof. It's been another long, strange, difficult, odd year. Not without its high points and good times, but I'd really like some 'normal' right now.

An invitation to a tea party brings great cheer and jollity. It can be a sensory feast, a riot of colour and an excuse to celebrate nothing in particular but the importance of friendship, family and cake.

For the photo I cut the batch into 6 big chunks but these salted caramel brownies are so rich, going with 24 mini-brownies is a great idea and makes for an abundant tea party.

These delicious, and very lemony lemon meringue pies will wow any tea party guest.

These delicious brown butter cakes keep well in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week (so I always double the recipe) but they are more delicious warm from the oven.

You may have noticed that I have not written any quantities for the butter, sugar and self-raising flour. The trick to a wonderful Victoria sponge is that all the ingredients should be of equal quantity.

2020 has been a year of challenges, changes and surprises. I am sure that you all have stories to tell of your personal experience of this year and how it has affected your life.

This year I finally completed our three year project to bring a new perfume into being. This is the story of that journey.
