IngredientsMix the flour, oats and bicarbonate of soda together (or almonds and seeds, if making the gluten free option)
Melt the butter in a pan. Do not boil or burn! Add the golden syrup and sugar. Add this mixture to the oats, flour and soda and mix well.
Put the mixture in a baking dish which has been greased and lined. Flatten the mixture with the back of a spoon.
Bake in a moderate hot oven until golden brown. About 45 minutes. Cut into squares while still warm, but allow to cool before removing from tray.
